"The one thing that can solve most of our problems is dancing" - James Brown

Growing up, I always pursued whatever held my interest, regardless of the intended outcome. In high school (Interlochen) it was theater, in college: filmmaking and 19th century lit. After college, I moved to Los Angeles in 2012 and worked in marketing, sales, and tech startups. The tech scene was stressful. To relieve the stress I would go dancing every night. LA has a great nightlife scene with retro bars, themed clubs. I befriended many people on the dance floor, especially DJ’s, and I had my favorites. At one point a wedding DJ company hired me as a hype man at weddings and booked me as a “professional wedding crasher” (You can still book me through them). Around this time, I really liked the culture and the work. I started taking DJ lessons in 2018.

When the events industry went on hiatus in 2020 I came back to Michigan.  I missed the nightlife in LA. So, I threw my own parties. I started booking gigs, and since then I’ve held numerous residencies, voted as the best DJ in Northern Michigan for the past three years in a row.

But I love weddings most of all. Since I was trained in the alt-wedding scene in California, and I’ve become appreciated for my unique take on DJ’ing which is different from the norm in northern Michigan. My goal is to create a destination / experiential wedding culture, where guests can’t wait to jump on the floor and dance their heads off. I knew I was in the right industry when total strangers have planned their wedding around my availability.

I’m the type of DJ you hire when you want to impress your guests, and have a real party. A reception you look forward to, with dialed in aesthetics, and not some cheesy facade. The kind where people lose their minds, and hobble home, sore, and drenched in sweat after partying until the very last minute. The kind of wedding where your friends and guests keep reminding you how they had the best night of their lives after the best day of yours.

I’m an open format DJ, meaning I play any genre and switch between genres throughout the night. I love all kinds of music, and when I’m not DJ’ing, I’m digging and building sets to find new, cool things. When you hire me, I make it my duty to read the crowd, see what works, so everyone will have a good time. To name a few, I’m well versed in Funk, Soul, Disco, Hip hop, Rock (classic – contemporary), R&B, Country, Latin, Pop Music.

Foreign Language Weddings: Spanish, German, French, Albanian, Korean, Polish, Bulgarian, Indian (Bollywood Hits) (Please note: if you would like me to play a foreign language party / wedding, outside of these languages listed above, I will need extra time to curate and familiarize myself with the music / genre and will need recommendations from your group.)

In 2024 I got married and opened a pastry shop with my wife in downtown Petoskey. You can check us out at Pistachio 313 Howard Street in Petoskey!

I’ve DJ’d for / at:

MIXES

I created a six hour mix for the opening of Brandy’s Harbortown, and is a mix of tropical house remixes, reggae, yacht rock, latin jazz. Think drinking a margarita while watching the boats in bay harbor on a lazy sunny afternoon.
