If a place called “south Detroit” actually existed (it doesn’t – sorry Journey), then that’s where I was born and raised. A modest little slice of blue-collar suburban sprawl known as Downriver. And growing up in the shadow of Motown and amongst the stacks of my parents’ record collections, I guess you could say I was destined to be a music fanatic. From fumbling around with a guitar for fun as a wee lad, to studying the science of music in college, to being in bands and travelling around the state and midwest, and finally, moving to Petoskey and making it my career, performing music has always been a crucial stone in the shifting foundations of my life. I’ve been doing this silly, incredible thing for a living in Northern Michigan for the better part of two
decades now, so I’ve got a bit of experience.

Thousands of gigs.
Hundreds of weddings, private events, festivals, hootenannies, and black-tie affairs.
Opening for and/or playing with musicians far more famous than I’ll ever be – Mark Farner of Grand Funk
Railroad, Billy Strings, JET, etc…

And yet I never seem to grow tired of any given opportunity to sit down and bang out a tune, whether it be for ten people or ten thousand (ok fine, I’ve not *quite* hit the 10,000 mark, but hope springs eternal).
My influences are rather vast, from Bach to Beatles to Beastie Boys.
Blues to Bob Dylan to Bob Seger.
Fleetwood Mac to Macklemore.
Country *and* Western.

I like to think that I’ve slowly added to my repertoire over the years to a point where I can truly say that I have a little something for everyone and every occasion.
In short, I have a deep and abiding passion for music, both as an art form and as my profession. Performing live, bringing joy through music, adding a little something extra to any experience… these things are fundamental to who I am as a person. And you can expect this exact same love and enthusiasm for any event at which you may need me, whether it’s a beautiful, quiet soundtrack for the most important day of your life, or simply an excuse to liven up any gathering with some tunes.
