This is Parker Marshall. Here is a quick recap for the updates of Parker Marshall Entertainment in 2024 . I rarely make posts here, but I should more often, right?

I started DJ’ing as a side hustle and hobby in 2021. I didn’t expect it to take over my life. The recognition may seem small to an outsider, but to me it was a very nice surprise. There are many great DJs in this area, and I’m happy just to be considered. I put a lot into it, and it gives me confidence to receive this. I’m always looking to give people a great time on the dance floor. So, thank you to everyone who voted for me. It means a lot
Pistachio - a pastry shop in Petoskey
In August, I opened Pistachio with my wife on Howard street. It’s a small pastry and dessert shop. My wife makes everything. We are known for our cannoli, macarons, and basque cheesecakes. If you’d like to make an order please contact briana@pistachiopastry.com

When last I wrote, Eli and Jakey had just joined. Over the past summer we Introduced Jordan, Kyon, and Jack to the rotation. As of this winter we’re bringing on John Martin Ryan. While five of us are based in the Petoskey area, Jakey is based in Marquette, and Kyon is based in Grand Rapids, so travel fees apply to different DJs, and we will not charge a travel fee within our respective local areas. A larger company brings benefits, such as support in case of emergency life events, or gear substitution in the event of equipment failure. (Neither of these cases have ever happened, FYI). Contingency plans allow Parker to sleep at night. Weddings are sacred.
The Earl of Charlevoix
This summer have established an entertainment partnership with the Earl Hotel of Charlevoix. Every Friday and Saturday from 7PM to 11PM you can catch one of our DJs performing on the rooftop. To give you an idea, these rooftop parties really kick off. Imagine perfect weather where you can watch the sun go down within view of Lake Charlevoix, Lake Michigan & Round Lake with a cocktail in hand as a DJ spins a custom mix to set the mood.

There is no science for making a dance floor come to life. It is an art, and it is not always perfect. But what we can control for is a wide array of music knowledge based on generational understanding by studying popular music of every decade and building a music library for what resonates with each generation. Since weddings tend to be multi-generational, we hone our repertoire for a multi-generational audience, and this approach makes all the difference.
Mix of the Month:
This past year, I made a mix for Brandy’s Harbortown’s opening in Bay Harbor. It’s a six hour mix of tropical sounds which is a nice departure from the winter weather.
